Schooley Caldwell served as Architect of Record (with Sasaki Associates as Design Architect) for the $170 million renovation and expansion of five south campus residence halls—Siebert, Stradley, Park, Smith, and Steeb.

To transform the two pairs of 1950s towers into cohesive, modern communities, the team introduced new “bridge” additions that physically connected each pair, turning four separate buildings into two. These connections created vibrant shared spaces, supported Student Life’s goals, and delivered 360 new beds along with renovated housing for more than 2,100 students.

Our work included designing new roofs for the additions and replacing the existing roofs, all using coal-tar-pitch systems. The project achieved LEED Gold certification.
