The City of Columbus hired Schooley Caldwell to perform an exterior assessment of Columbus City Hall. After the assessment, our team led the a partial renovation, which involved replacing the deteriorating windows on the first and second floors, hazardous material abatement, building code analysis, reworking space layouts, upgrading conference rooms to accommodate modern technology and replace dated finishes, and renovation and upgrades to the Mayor’s office.
Schooley Caldwell also completed a Historic Fabric Analysis for Columbus City Hall that included review of original drawings, historic photographs, and existing conditions to identify original uses, character-defining features, and surviving historic materials. The study established restoration zones based on significance and integrity and now guides ongoing renovation work at City Hall.
